Beauty for Ashes Prayer Series
Beauty for Ashes, A Prayer Series is a platform of obedience to God. Many of us have experienced so much in life that we can all have bestsellers. God showed me that He has given us Beauty for our Ashes. Our part is to give Him the Ashes. We do this through Prayer.
Scripture Basis
Isaiah 61:1-3 KJV
[1] The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
[2] to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
[3] to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

You Haven’t Lost Everything!
Job was, by definition, a “good man”. The Bible says that he was perfect and upright, that he feared God and avoided evil. The Bible records that even during his time, he had 1 wife. He was a father to 10 children, 7 sons and 3 daughters. He owned thousands of animals. He was the greatest of all of the men of the east.
His children had many feasts. Blessed Assurance! Jesus is mine! There is an assurance when we recognize that we are covered by God. Job would sanctify them and prayed for any sins that they may have committed unknowingly.
We know how this account in the Word goes. Court session was happening in heaven and the accuser of the brethren, satan was there. He explained that he had been going back and forth checking out the earth. Listen! God asks, have you considered my servant Job?, and then brags on him. Can God brag on us? Most of us know someone that we can brag on. The enemy responds, “You’ve placed a hedge of protection around him, You’ve blessed and increased him, if you take away what he has, he will curse You.”
God says, everything he owns is in your power, only do not touch him. Have you lost what owned? Job lost everything back-to-back. Children, livestock, servants. Who said, “when it rains, it pours”. After all of the terrible news, what was Job’s response? He worshipped.
The Bible doesn’t say that Job called his friends, not that he even ran to tell his wife. The Bible doesn’t speak of a pity party or that he laid in his crying. The Bible tells us that in all of this heaviness, Job worshipped. Wisdom spoke through him when he said, naked I was born and naked I will return, the LORD gave and he taketh away, Blessed be the name of the LORD. He did not sin and he did not speak ill of God.
Fast forward, there’s another meeting. God brags, satan responds that a man will up anything in exchange for his life, God says, “go ahead, but spare his life.” His health is afflicted. Fast forward, wife tells him to curse God and die. Friends come and tell him that he must have done something wrong.
In the end, Chapter 42, Job repents. God instructs the friends to go to Job for prayer. The man who musti’ve done something wrong, is the one needed for prayer. Job’s prayer is accepted and God gave him 2x as much as he had before. His brothers and sisters returned, ate with him, sympathized and blessed him. God blessed Job in the end.
We haven’t lost everything and what is our response? So many times, I’ve compared my life to Job’s. Ya’ll pray for me. By today’s standards, I have lost a lot, but Glory to God. I haven’t lost everything. Literally, Job didn’t either. His life was preserved. This dropped in my spirit on Saturday. I thought about how I’ve lost so much, there isn’t time to tell it all. Thank God for the Holy Spirit. You haven’t lost your children. It was so clear. Last week I testified about how I lost several children before I had my kids. I must remember that they are blessings that God has given me. You may not have children, but there is a blessing in your life, one that you prayed for.
You haven’t lost everything! You’re here on this line, which means, like Job you have LIFE! You are blessed with health! We can hear, see, function! What is our response when life goes left? What is our response when things don’t go our way? Study Job again. His response was worship.
Worship is our response to God’s holiness. Are you grateful? Do you recognize God’s power in your life? What is your song to the LORD? Are we living to reflect God’s love? Do we express worship through the lifting of hands, kneeling, bowing, dancing, standing? Are we praying? Do we spend private time, getting to know God?
Worship was Job’s response and I pray that it is our response to EVERY SINGLE matter in our lives. Worship and watch God RESTORE!
